Article 42. Voting on the Constitutional Law on Elections in the Republic of Kazakhstan

     1. The ballots are filled in by the voters in the booth for secret voting. When filling them out, the presence of anyone other than the voter is prohibited. A voter (elector) who is unable to fill out ballots on his own has the right to use the assistance of a person whom he trusts and whose name is entered in the list of voters after voting next to the signature of the voter (elector) in receiving the ballot. This person can't be:

     1) member of the election commission;

     2) an official of a local representative or executive body;

     3) the candidate's proxy;

     4) a journalist is a representative of the mass media;

     5) an observer registered with the relevant election commission.

     2. The voter (elector) puts any mark in the empty square to the right of the name of the candidate for whom he votes, or in the square located to the right of the line "Against all".

     In the ballot paper with the names of political parties, the voter puts any mark in the empty square to the right of the name of the political party for which he votes, or in the square located to the right of the line "Against all".

     3. When electing members of local self-government bodies other than maslikhats, a voter puts any mark in an empty square to the right of the names of those candidates for whom he votes, or in a square located to the right of the line "Against all".

     3-1. It is not allowed to mark the bulletin with a pencil, as well as to make any corrections to it.

     4. The completed ballots are dropped by the voter (elector) into the ballot box.

     5. Excluded by the Constitutional Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated 04/14/2004 No. 545.
