Article 5-1. Operation of vessels flying the flag of a foreign State The Merchant Shipping Act

     In the Kazakh sector of the Caspian Sea, subject to the provisions of Article 5 of this Law, Kazakh shipowners may operate vessels flying the flag of a foreign state on the basis of a permit to operate a vessel flying the flag of a foreign state in the Kazakh sector of the Caspian Sea to carry out activities related to subsurface use operations, elimination of the consequences of subsurface use, as well as construction hydraulic structures and rescue operations.

     A permit to operate a vessel flying the flag of a foreign state in the Kazakh sector of the Caspian Sea is issued taking into account the protection of national interests, the safety of navigation and environmental protection in the Kazakh sector of the Caspian Sea.

 

 

The Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated January 17, 2002 No. 284.

     This Law defines the legal, organizational, economic and international foundations of public administration in the field of merchant shipping and regulates relations related to the transportation of passengers, baggage and cargo, ensuring safety in maritime transport and environmental protection.
