The competence of the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan includes:

1) development of the main directions of the state policy in the field of food safety;

2) excluded by the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated 04/19/2023 No. 223-VII (effective ten calendar days after the date of its first official publication). 3) excluded by the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated 04/19/2023 No. 223-VII (effective ten calendar days after the date of its first official publication).

4) excluded by the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated 07/03/2013 No. 124-V (effective after ten calendar days after its first official publication);

5) approval of the order:

disposal and destruction of food products that pose a danger to human and animal life and health, and the environment;

import (import) of food products subject to state registration;

enrichment (fortification) of food products subject to sanitary and epidemiological supervision;

implementation of control and supervision over the conformity of food products in the processes (at stages) its development (creation), production (manufacture), turnover, disposal and destruction, for compliance of the processes (stages) of development (creation), production (manufacture), turnover, disposal and destruction of food products with the requirements established by the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan on food safety;

turnover of genetically modified objects;

carrying out work on scientifically based confirmation of the safety of genetically modified objects;

6) excluded by the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated 04/19/2023 No. 223-VII (effective ten calendar days after the date of its first official publication).

The Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated July 21, 2007 No. 301.

This Law establishes the legal basis for ensuring food safety to protect human life and health, the legitimate interests of consumers and environmental protection in the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
