Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan:

1) develops the main directions of the state policy on refugee issues;

2) adopt normative legal acts on refugee issues within its competence;

3) determines the procedure for granting, extending, depriving and terminating refugee status;

4) determines the temporary settlement points in case of a massive influx of asylum seekers, and approves the procedure for admission and accommodation in them.;

4-1) excluded by the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated 09/29/2014 No. 239-V (effective ten calendar days after the date of its first official publication);

5) excluded by the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated 04/19/2023 No. 223-VII (effective ten calendar days after the date of its first official publication).

The Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated December 4, 2009 No. 216-IV.

This Law defines the legal status of asylum seekers and refugees in the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
