The State regulation of public relations in the field of geodesy, cartography and spatial data is based on the following principles:

1) consistency and continuity of geodetic and cartographic activities;

2) completeness, reliability and relevance of spatial data sets;

3) uniformity of measurements when performing geodetic, cartographic, topographic and gravimetric work;

4) the use of uniform standards;

5) accessibility and openness of spatial data, with the exception of information constituting state secrets, official information of limited distribution and other information protected by law;

6) using approved reference systems;

7) interoperability;

8) stimulating the development of geodesy, cartography and spatial data.
