Article 5. Principles of standardization The Law on Standardization
Standardization in the Republic of Kazakhstan is based on the principles of:
1) voluntary:
selection for the purpose of application of standardization documents, unless otherwise established by the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan;
participation of all stakeholders in standardization activities;
choosing from interrelated standards;
2) the unity and integrity of the national standardization system;
3) ensuring the consistency and complexity of standardization;
4) the application of a single terminology to the objects of standardization;
5) openness of the process of developing national standards based on the participation of all stakeholders;
6) openness of information about standardization documents, the procedure for their development, approval and publication to users and other interested parties, with the exception of standardization documents that constitute state secrets or other legally protected secrets, and standardization documents that are the subject of copyright;
7) the use of scientific and technological achievements, as well as international, regional, and foreign standards in the development of standardization documents;
8) dynamism and advanced development of standardization.
This Law defines the legal framework for the functioning of the national standardization system.
