1. An agricultural cooperative is a legal entity in the organizational and legal form of a production cooperative, established on the basis of membership by voluntary association of individuals and (or) legal entities to carry out joint production and (or) other economic activities in order to meet their socio-economic needs in the production, processing, marketing, storage of agricultural products, aquaculture products (fish farming), supply of means of production and logistical resources, crediting, , operation, repair and reconstruction of irrigation and (or) drainage systems or other maintenance services for members of the cooperative, as well as associated members of the cooperative.

2. An agricultural cooperative is considered to be established for an indefinite period, unless the constituent documents provide that it is created for a certain period or to achieve a certain goal.

3. An agricultural cooperative is a commercial organization, has civil rights and carries duties related to its activities necessary for carrying out any types of activities not prohibited by the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

4. The brand name of an agricultural cooperative must include its name with the words "Agricultural Production Cooperative" or the abbreviation "SEC".

An agricultural cooperative may also use the abbreviated form of its brand name and its equivalents in foreign languages.

5. Labor relations in an agricultural cooperative are regulated by the labor legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Personal labor participation of cooperative members in the activities of an agricultural cooperative is not mandatory.
