The competence of the authorized body includes:

1) formation and implementation of a unified state policy in the field of ensuring the uniformity of measurements;

2) submission of a submission to the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan to determine the state scientific metrological center;

3) coordinating the activities of the State scientific metrological center;

4) approval of state standards of units of quantities;

5) determining the procedure for the creation, approval, storage, application and comparison of state standards of units of quantities and standards of units of quantities of the subjects of accreditation;

6) approval of the classification of standards of units of quantities;

7) organization and conduct of state metrological control;

8) representation of the Republic of Kazakhstan in international and regional organizations on metrology;

9) determination of the procedure for certification, recertification and revocation of certificates of verifiers of measuring instruments, as well as qualification requirements for them;

10) determination of the procedure for advanced training and retraining of personnel in the field of ensuring the uniformity of measurements;

11) approval of forms of certificates on type approval of measuring instruments and on verification of measuring instruments;

12) determination of the procedure for the manufacture, storage and application of verification stamps;

13) determination of the procedure for the development, metrological certification, approval and registration of measurement methods and reference measurement methods in the register of the state system for ensuring the uniformity of measurements;

14) determining the procedure for conducting metrological expertise of regulatory legal acts, technical regulations, as well as interstate and national standards in the field of ensuring the uniformity of measurements;

15) determination of the procedure for the development, approval, registration in the register of the state system for ensuring the uniformity of measurements and the application of methods of verification of measuring instruments;

16) organization of scientific research in the field of ensuring the uniformity of measurements;

17) determination of the procedure for maintaining the register of the state system for ensuring the uniformity of measurements;

18) determination of the procedure for the formation of measurement lists and metrological requirements for them related to state regulation;

19) establishment of metrological requirements for measurements related to state regulation, jointly with government agencies;

20) determination of the procedure for verification of measuring instruments and establishment of the frequency of verification of measuring instruments;

21) determination of the type approval procedure, tests for the purposes of type approval, metrological certification of measuring instruments and the establishment of the form of the type approval mark;

21-1) approval of the list of measuring instruments put into circulation based on the results of the initial verification of measuring instruments;

21-2) determining the procedure for determining the conformity of the quantity of products packaged by the manufacturer or seller in packages of any kind, as well as packaged products imported by the importer during its sale and products alienated during trade operations for the purposes of state metrological control;

22) determination of the procedure for ensuring metrological traceability of measurements for accredited entities and legal entities during accreditation;

23) determination of the procedure for type approval and registration in the register of the state system for ensuring the uniformity of measurements of a standard sample;

24) coordinating the activities of government agencies, individuals and legal entities in the field of ensuring the uniformity of measurements;

25) implementation of interregional and intersectoral coordination and performance of work aimed at ensuring the uniformity of measurements of time and frequency and determining the parameters of the Earth's rotation;

26) implementation of interregional and intersectoral coordination and performance of work related to the development and implementation of standard samples;

27) implementation of interregional and intersectoral coordination and performance of work related to the development and implementation of standard reference data on physical constants and properties of substances and materials;

28) exercise of other powers provided for by this Law, other laws of the Republic of Kazakhstan, acts of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated June 7, 2000 No. 53-II.

This Law regulates public relations that arise between government agencies, individuals and legal entities in the field of ensuring the uniformity of measurements, defines its goals, legal and organizational bases for ensuring the uniformity of measurements.
