1. Tourism in the Republic of Kazakhstan is classified:

1) by type of tourism;

2) according to the industry principle;

3) according to the subjective principle;

4) according to the object principle.

2. Types of tourism include international and domestic tourism.

3. International tourism includes:

1) inbound tourism, which means travel within the Republic of Kazakhstan by persons who do not permanently reside on its territory;

2) outbound tourism, which means travel of citizens of the Republic of Kazakhstan and persons permanently residing in the Republic of Kazakhstan to another country.

4. Domestic tourism is travel within the Republic of Kazakhstan by citizens of the Republic of Kazakhstan and persons permanently residing on its territory.

5. According to the sectoral principle, the areas of tourism related to the provision of tourist services and the satisfaction of tourist needs for familiarization with facilities and activities in a particular field are distinguished.

6. According to the subject principle, the tourism directions are distinguished, related to the status (age, professional and others) of the tourists themselves.

7. According to the object principle, the tourism directions associated with tourists visiting specific sites and (or) events are distinguished.

The Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated June 13, 2001 No. 211.

This Law defines the legal, economic, social, and organizational foundations of tourism activity as one of the sectors of the economy of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
