Article 6. Competence of the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the field of radioactive waste management of the Law on Radioactive Waste Management

     The Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the field of radioactive waste management:

     1) develops the main directions of state policy in the field of radioactive waste management and organizes their implementation;

     2) decides on the location of burial sites and their construction;

     3) decides on the transfer of the historical radioactive waste storage facility to the burial site;

     4) decides on the early closure or closure of burial sites;

     5) approves the rules for choosing the location of burial sites;

     6) performs other functions assigned to him by the Constitution of the Republic of Kazakhstan, this Law, other laws of the Republic of Kazakhstan and acts of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
