The competence of the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the field of technical regulation includes:

1) development of the main directions of state policy in the field of technical regulation and organization of their implementation;

2) identification of authorized bodies exercising state control and supervision over compliance with the requirements of relevant technical regulations determined by the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan at the stages of the product life cycle.

This Law establishes the fundamental principles of technical regulation that arise when establishing and fulfilling requirements for products, related processes, and the provision of services, and also defines the legal basis for the functioning of the state system of technical regulation.
