The main activities of the Assembly are:

1) assistance in the development and implementation of state policy to ensure social harmony and national unity;

2) promoting the formation of Kazakhstani patriotism;

3) development of the state language and other languages of the people of Kazakhstan;

4) excluded by the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated 04/27/2018 No. 149-VI (effective from the date of its first official publication);

5) participation in the development and implementation of plans and activities in the field of demography and migration;

6) popularization of the Kazakh model of social harmony and national unity in the country and abroad;

7) carrying out educational and publishing activities aimed at strengthening social harmony and national unity;

8) monitoring the sphere of interethnic relations, including the use of the state language and other languages of the people of Kazakhstan;

9) participation in the socio-political examination of draft laws on issues of state policy in the field of public consent and national unity;

10) support for the Kazakh diaspora in foreign countries in matters of preserving and developing their native language, culture and national traditions, strengthening their ties with their historical homeland;

11) develop recommendations and implement practical measures to resolve disagreements and disputes, prevent conflict situations in the field of interethnic relations and participate in their resolution;

12) methodological, organizational and legal assistance to ethnocultural public associations;

13) holding seminars, conferences, as well as other events that ensure dialogue between government agencies and public associations on issues of social harmony and national unity;

14) interaction with government agencies, organizations, civil society institutions and international organizations to strengthen social harmony and national unity;

14-1) assistance in the development of charity, mediation in the field of social harmony and national unity;

15) assistance in the development of relations between the ethnic groups of Kazakhstan and their historical homeland;

16) other activities aimed at strengthening social harmony and national unity that do not contradict the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated October 20, 2008 No. 70-IV.

This Law defines the status, procedure for the formation and organization of the work of the Assembly of People of Kazakhstan aimed at implementing state policy to ensure public harmony and national unity, increasing the effectiveness of interaction between government agencies, organizations and institutions of civil society in the field of interethnic relations.
