Article 6. Tasks of peacekeeping activities of the Law on Peacekeeping Activities of the Republic of Kazakhstan
The objectives of peacekeeping activities are:
1) preventing disagreements between the parties, preventing conflicts from escalating into armed conflicts, and limiting the scale of the conflict;
2) assistance in stopping violent actions by diplomatic means and methods;
3) participation of military personnel in joint international coercive actions in accordance with the UN Charter;
4) protection of the territory and (or) the population in the zone (area) of the peacekeeping operation from armed attack;
5) ensuring compliance with the terms of the ceasefire;
6) separation of the conflicting parties, disarmament and disbandment of units;
7) assistance in solving the problems of refugees and internally displaced persons;
8) provision of humanitarian assistance;
9) restoration of infrastructure in the zone (area) of the peacekeeping operation;
10) ensuring law and order, public safety and respect for human rights;
11) other tasks stipulated by the mandate.

This Law regulates public relations related to the participation of the national contingent of the Republic of Kazakhstan in peace and security operations (missions) in accordance with international obligations assumed by the Republic of Kazakhstan.
