1. Employees have the right to use firearms and other weapons to:

1) protection of individuals from criminal attacks in the event of a threat to their life and health, as well as the release of hostages;

2) repelling attacks on employees and their family members, persons performing official or public duties to protect public order, ensure public safety and combat crime;

2-1) suppression of attempts to seize firearms and other weapons, a special vehicle of a law enforcement agency;

3) repelling attacks on residential premises of individuals, objects protected by law enforcement agencies, premises of state organizations, repelling attacks on service or military personnel;

4) detentions of persons resisting or caught in the commission of a crime, escaping from custody (except for those under administrative arrest), detentions of armed persons;

5) stopping vehicles by damaging them if the driver does not comply with the lawful requirements of the employee and endangers the life and health of individuals.;

6) protection from animal attacks in cases of a real threat to life or health;

7) warning citizens about the intention to use weapons, giving an alarm or calling for help;

8) in all other cases of necessary defense and extreme necessity.

2. It is prohibited to use weapons against women, persons with obvious signs of disability, minors, when their age is known or obvious, except in cases of committing an armed attack, armed resistance, hostage-taking, vehicles, including an aircraft, or a group attack.

The Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated January 6, 2011 No. 380-IV.

This Law regulates public relations related to admission to the law enforcement service of the Republic of Kazakhstan, its passage and termination, and also defines the legal status (status), financial support and social protection of law enforcement officers of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
