The objects of technical regulation include: civilian and service weapons and cartridges for them, as well as the processes of their production, assembly, alteration, repair, sale (trade), acquisition, collecting, exhibiting, storage, carrying, transportation, use, destruction.

The Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated December 30, 1998 No. 339.

This Law regulates legal relations arising from the turnover of civilian, service, military handguns and cold steel weapons in the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan, and is aimed at protecting the life and health of citizens, property, ensuring public safety, protecting environmental facilities, resources, and developing international cooperation in combating crime and illegal proliferation of weapons.

The provisions of this Law also apply to the circulation of ammunition (cartridges).
