Article 7. Competence of state bodies and local executive bodies in the field of protection of children from information harmful to their health and development The Law on the Protection of Children from Information Harmful to Their Health and Development

1. The authorized body in the field of mass media within its competence:

1) implements state policy in the field of protection of children from information harmful to their health and development;

2) monitors the mass media for compliance with the requirements of this Law;

3) carries out state control over compliance with the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan on the protection of children from information harmful to their health and development in the mass media;

4) exercise other powers stipulated by the laws of the Republic of Kazakhstan, acts of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

2. The authorized body in the field of communications and informatization within its competence:

1) implements state policy in the field of protection of children from information harmful to their health and development;

2) carries out state control over compliance with the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan on the protection of children from information harmful to their health and development in telecommunications networks;

3) exercise other powers stipulated by the laws of the Republic of Kazakhstan, acts of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

3. The authorized body in the field of education within its competence:

1) implements state policy in the field of protection of children from information harmful to their health and development;

2) exercise other powers stipulated by the laws of the Republic of Kazakhstan, acts of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

4. Internal affairs bodies within their competence:

1) implement a state policy in the field of protecting children from information harmful to their health and development;

2) carry out state control over compliance with the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan on the protection of children from information harmful to their health and development, when distributing information products to minors containing information prohibited for children;

3) exercise other powers provided for by the laws of the Republic of Kazakhstan, acts of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

5. Local executive bodies of the regions within their competence:

1) ensure the implementation of state policy in the field of protection of children from information harmful to their health and development;

2) exercise, in the interests of local government, other powers assigned to local executive bodies by the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

6. Local executive bodies of cities of republican significance and the capital, districts, cities of regional significance within their competence:

1) ensure the implementation of state policy in the field of protection of children from information harmful to their health and development;

2) carry out state control over compliance with the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan on the protection of children from information harmful to their health and development in the relevant administrative-territorial unit, with the exception of:

mass media, as well as information disseminated through telecommunications networks;

distribution to minors of information products containing information prohibited for children;

3) exercise, in the interests of local government, other powers assigned to local executive bodies by the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
