1. State regulation of radiation safety is carried out by establishing radiation safety standards, sanitary rules, hygienic standards, building codes, labor protection rules, methodological, instructional and other documents on radiation safety. These acts should take into account international standards on radiation safety and should not contradict the provisions of this Law.

2. Sanitary and epidemiological rules and regulations, technical regulations in the field of radiation safety are approved in accordance with the procedure established by the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

3. Administrative, instructional, methodological and other documents on radiation safety issues are approved and accepted by authorized state bodies and operating organizations within their competence on the basis of technical regulations in the field of radiation safety.

The Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated April 23, 1998 No. 219.

This Law regulates public relations in the field of radiation safety of the population, in order to protect their health from the harmful effects of ionizing radiation.
