1. The secret of a legal consultant is the fact of contacting a legal consultant, information about the content of oral and written negotiations with the person who asked for help and other persons, about the nature and results of actions taken in the interests of the person who asked for help.

2. Legal consultants, their assistants, officials of chambers of legal consultants and their bodies, as well as a person who has lost the status of a legal consultant, are not entitled to disclose, or use for their own benefit or for the benefit of third parties, any information obtained in connection with the provision of legal assistance and (or) as a result of their activities. professional activity.

3. For the disclosure of information related to the secrecy of a legal consultant without the consent of the person requesting assistance, except in cases provided for by the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the persons referred to in paragraph 2 of this Article are responsible in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

4. Submitting information and information to the authorized financial monitoring body in accordance with the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan "On Countering the Legalization (Laundering) of Proceeds from Crime, financing of terrorism and financing the proliferation of weapons of mass Destruction" does not constitute disclosure of the secrets of a legal consultant.

5. The obligation to keep professional secrets is not limited in time.

6. Legal consultants, their assistants, officials of chambers of legal consultants and their bodies, as well as a person who has lost the status of a legal consultant, are required to take the necessary measures to preserve professional secrecy, including its protection from unauthorized access.
