Article 8. Basic requirements for the collection, processing and protection of fingerprint and genomic information The Law on Fingerprint and Genomic Registration
1. Fingerprint and genomic information refers to personal data with limited access.
2. The conditions for collecting and processing fingerprint and genomic information should exclude the possibility of its loss, distortion and unauthorized access to it, as well as unlawful and/or unintended access and/or impact on electronic information resources with fingerprint or genomic information.
3. Fingerprint and genomic information is subject to protection, which is guaranteed by the state. The collection and processing of fingerprint and genomic information is carried out only in cases of ensuring its protection.
The protection of fingerprint and genomic information is carried out in accordance with the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan on informatization, on personal data and their protection, and state secrets.
4. Government agencies that collect and (or) process fingerprint and (or) genomic information are required to respect the confidentiality of fingerprint and (or) genomic information and ensure its protection.
5. Collection, processing, protection of fingerprint and (or) genomic information, selection, storage, use, destruction of biological material are carried out in accordance with the rules of fingerprint and genomic registration.

This Law regulates public relations in the field of fingerprint and genomic registration in the Republic of Kazakhstan.
