Article 8. Functioning of the Semipalatinsk Nuclear Safety Zone of the Law On the Semipalatinsk Nuclear Safety Zone

     1. A special legal regime is in effect on the territory of the Semipalatinsk Nuclear Safety Zone, which is a set of operating conditions for the Semipalatinsk nuclear safety zone in accordance with this Law, tax, land, and environmental legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

     2. The lands of the Semipalatinsk nuclear safety zone belong to the category of lands of industry, transport, communications, for the needs of space activities, defense, national security, nuclear safety zones and other non-agricultural purposes.

      3. The infrastructure facilities are state-owned.  

     This Law regulates public relations arising from the establishment and operation of the Semipalatinsk Nuclear Safety Zone.
