Article 8. Main functions of the national security system of the Law on National Security of the Republic of Kazakhstan
The main functions of the national security system are:
1) definition of the national interests of the Republic of Kazakhstan;
2) defining the goals, objectives and main directions of ensuring national security;
3) identification, analysis, assessment and forecasting of threats to national security;
4) development and implementation of a set of operational and long-term measures to prevent and neutralize threats to national security;
5) promotion of political initiatives aimed at strengthening international security;
6) the maintenance of national security forces in constant readiness;
7) participation in ensuring international (global, regional) security in accordance with international treaties ratified by the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated January 6, 2012 No. 527-IV.
This Law regulates legal relations in the field of national security of the Republic of Kazakhstan and defines the content and principles of ensuring the security of man and citizen, society and the state, the system, goals and directions of ensuring national security of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
