Article 8. Passport of a citizen of the Republic of Kazakhstan The Law on Identity Documents

     1. A passport of a citizen of the Republic of Kazakhstan is issued to citizens of the Republic of Kazakhstan at their request, regardless of age, and certifies the identity of a citizen of the Republic of Kazakhstan on the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan and abroad.

     2. The following entries and marks may be entered in the passport of a citizen of the Republic of Kazakhstan:

     1) excluded by the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated 25.11.2019 No. 272-VI (effective after ten calendar days after the date of its first official publication); 2) excluded by the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated 25.11.2019 No. 272-VI (effective after ten calendar days after the date of its first official publication);  

     3) a foreign country's visa;

     4) the mark of the structural subdivision of the territorial subdivision of the Border Guard Service of the National Security Committee of the Republic of Kazakhstan on border crossing.

     3. Marks in the passport of a citizen of the Republic of Kazakhstan, affixed by authorized state bodies of the Republic of Kazakhstan, are issued with stamps, the form of which is established by authorized state bodies and the National Security Committee of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Making and making entries and marks in the passport of a citizen of the Republic of Kazakhstan that are not provided for by this Law is prohibited.

     4. A passport of a citizen of the Republic of Kazakhstan is issued for a period of validity of ten years, and for children under the age of twelve – for five years.

 

 

The Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated January 29, 2013 No. 73-V.

     This Law defines the legal basis of identity documents, establishes requirements for their registration, and regulates activities related to the production, issuance, replacement, delivery, seizure and destruction of identity documents.
