Article 8. Types of activities of aquaculture entities of the Law on Aquaculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan

1. Subjects of aquaculture carry out the following types of activities:

1) lake-commercial economic activities related to the breeding and (or) maintenance, cultivation of fish in isolated fisheries reservoirs by completely or partially replacing their ichthyofauna;

2) cage farming activities related to the breeding and (or) maintenance, rearing of fish in semi-voluntary controlled conditions in special devices (cages) located in the water area of fisheries reservoirs and (or) plots;

3) pond economic activities related to the breeding and (or) maintenance, cultivation of aquaculture facilities using fish ponds and (or) fish pools;

4) industrial economic activity related to the breeding and (or) maintenance, cultivation of aquaculture facilities using fish-breeding pools and the use of a closed-circuit water supply system;

5) reproductive economic activities related to the breeding and (or) maintenance, cultivation of aquaculture facilities in order to obtain their young by fertilization, incubation of eggs, as well as the rearing of juveniles of aquaculture facilities in artificially created conditions.

The subjects of aquaculture have the right to carry out one or more types of activities specified in the first part of this paragraph.

2. The activities of aquaculture entities relate to activities in the field of the agro-industrial complex and, in the part not regulated by this Law, are regulated by the laws of the Republic of Kazakhstan and other regulatory legal acts of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Fish farming on the territory, including water bodies of specially protected natural territories and the state forest fund, is regulated by the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the field of specially protected natural territories and the forest legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
