1. The compulsory environmental insurance contract applies to persons who are obliged to eliminate environmental damage in accordance with this Law and the environmental legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

2. Excluded by the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated 01/02/2021 No. 401-VI (effective from 07/01/2021).

3. The contract of compulsory environmental insurance shall enter into force and become binding on the parties from the date established by the contract of compulsory environmental insurance.

4. The compulsory environmental insurance contract is valid for at least twelve months from the date of its entry into force.

5. The validity of the compulsory environmental insurance contract is limited to the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan, unless otherwise provided by an international treaty ratified by the Republic of Kazakhstan.

This Law regulates public relations arising in the field of compulsory environmental insurance and establishes the legal, economic and organizational basis for its implementation.
