Models of civilian and service weapons and ammunition, as well as products structurally similar to weapons, produced in the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan, imported into the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan and exported from the Republic of Kazakhstan, are subject to mandatory confirmation of conformity.

The conformity of civilian and service weapons and their cartridges is confirmed in accordance with the procedure established by the authorized body of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the field of technical regulation.

A document in the field of conformity assessment is the basis for the turnover of civilian and service weapons and ammunition in the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Technical requirements and test methods for civilian and service weapons and ammunition are established by technical regulations in the field of turnover of civilian and service weapons and ammunition.

The Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated December 30, 1998 No. 339.

This Law regulates legal relations arising from the turnover of civilian, service, military handguns and cold steel weapons in the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan, and is aimed at protecting the life and health of citizens, property, ensuring public safety, protecting environmental facilities, resources, and developing international cooperation in combating crime and illegal proliferation of weapons.

The provisions of this Law also apply to the circulation of ammunition (cartridges).
