Article 9. Rights and obligations of refugees The Refugee Law
1. Refugees have the right to:
1) shelter;
2) request information from the relevant authorized bodies about relatives residing in the country of origin;
3) appeal against the decision of the local executive body of the region, the city of republican significance and the capital on the refusal to extend, revoke or terminate refugee status;
4) voluntary return to the country of origin or relocation to any third country;
5) medical care in accordance with the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the field of healthcare;
6) freedom of labor or entrepreneurial activity in accordance with the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan;
7) judicial protection of property and personal non-property benefits and rights;
8) export of the property brought with him, as well as legally acquired by him on the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan, to another country to which he has been granted the right to enter for settlement;
9) obtaining a refugee ID and a travel document.
2. Refugees must:
1) comply with the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan;
2) inform the local executive body of the region, the city of republican significance and the capital about the intention to leave the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan;
3) when changing the place of stay in the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan, withdraw from the register of the local executive body of the region, the city of republican significance and the capital at the previous place of stay and register with the local executive body of the region, the city of republican significance and the capital at the new place of stay within five working days from the date of arrival, as well as in accordance with the legislation The Republic of Kazakhstan is required to register at the place of stay.
3. Persons with refugee status have other rights and freedoms, as well as bear all duties established by the Constitution, laws and international treaties of the Republic of Kazakhstan for foreigners and stateless persons.

This Law defines the legal status of asylum seekers and refugees in the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
