1. The author of an object of industrial property is an individual whose creative work created it.

2. If several individuals participated in the creation of an industrial property object, all of them are considered its authors (co-authors). The procedure for using the rights belonging to the co-authors is determined by an agreement between them.

An individual who has not made a personal creative contribution to the creation of an object of industrial property, who has provided the author with only technical, organizational or material assistance, or who has only contributed to the registration of rights to it and its use, is not recognized as an author.

3. The right of authorship is an inalienable personal right and is protected indefinitely.

4. Excluded by the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated 04/07/2015 No. 300-V (effective ten calendar days after the date of its first official publication).

5. In order to promote and support awareness-raising about inventive activities in the Republic of Kazakhstan, the authorized body, together with authorized bodies in the field of science, state support for innovation and other interested bodies, develops and determines the procedure for holding the annual Shapagat competition for the selection of socially and economically significant, competitive, environmentally friendly inventions, as well as awarding the title "Honored inventor" for the authors of the most important and widely used inventions.
