About the national spring festival Nauryz meiramy

Order of the President of the Kazakh Soviet Socialist Republic dated March 15, 1991 No. 285

In order to establish universal human values, strengthen friendship and brotherhood among the peoples of the republic, revive deep-rooted folk traditions, as well as achieve harmony between nature and man, and moral purification in the spirit of genuine humanism.                     

I DECREE :      

1. To declare the vernal equinox Day on March 22 as the day of the national spring festival - Nauryz meiramy.      

2. Recommend that local Councils of People's Deputies, taking into account climatic conditions, independently determine the days ofthe national spring holiday Nauryz Meiramy.

3. The Cabinet of Ministers of the Kazakh SSR and the executive committeesof local Councils of People's Deputies shall take the necessary measures toprepare and hold the national spring holiday Nauryz Meiramy.

4. To support the initiative of the public of the republic to hold aMarch 16 to April 16, 1991 of the month "In harmony with nature".

5. The media should widely cover the preparation processand the national holiday of Nauryz spring and the month "In harmonywith nature".
