On some issues of functioning of the national currency of the Republic of Kazakhstan

Decree of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated February 7, 2001 No. 549.

In accordance with subparagraph 8) of Article 19 of the Constitutional Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan "On the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan", considering that the use of banknotes in cash payments has actually been discontinued, I hereby decree:

    1. To withdraw cash banknotes from circulation - tiyns (hereinafter referred to as tiyns). T010549

    2. To establish that withdrawal of cash coins from monetary circulation is carried out until December 31, 2012 inclusive.

     3. Keep the accounting, the reflection of tiyns in all payment documents and the procedure for making non-cash payments using tiyns unchanged.

     4. Excluded by Decree of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated 04/01/2017 No. 452 (effective after ten calendar days after the date of its first official publication).

     5. The Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan should develop and approve the procedure for rounding up all amounts of social benefits from the state budget, calculated in tiyns, to one tenge, regardless of the amount of tiyns.

    5-1. To establish that in the case of cash payments, with the exception of payments provided for in paragraph 5 of this Decree, the arithmetic method of rounding the amount of payments is applied (the amount of tiyn up to 50 tiyn should be rounded to 0; from 50 tiyn and above, rounded to 1 tenge).

     The footnote. The Decree was supplemented by paragraph 5-1 in accordance with the Decree of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated 04.07.2009 N 842 .

     6. The state bodies of the Republic of Kazakhstan should bring their acts into line with this Decree.

    7. This Decree shall enter into force from the date of its publication.
