On the establishment of the Republican corporation "TELEVISION and RADIO of KAZAKHSTAN"

DECREE of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Dated April 4, 1994 No. 1618

In order to increase the creative and technical level of television and radio programs, improve the management of the television and radio broadcasting system, form a unified information space in Kazakhstan, enhance entry into global information processes, strengthen the material and technical base and coordinate research activities in the field of television and radio, as well as create optimal investment conditions for the industry, I decree:    

1. To create the Republican Corporation Television and Radio of Kazakhstan (RCTRK) as part of the creative and production divisions of the State Television and Radio Broadcasting Company Kazakhstan under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Kazakhstan, as well as other enterprises and organizations that are part of it on a voluntary basis.    

2. To establish that the President of the Republican Corporation "Television and Radio of Kazakhstan" is appointed by the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan.    

3. To liquidate the State Television and Radio Broadcasting Company "Kazakhstan" under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Kazakhstan in accordance with the procedure established by law.    

4. Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Kazakhstan:    

- Form a liquidation commission. Expenses related to the liquidation of the state Television and Radio Broadcasting Company "Kazakhstan" will be carried out at the expense of additional allocated funds from the national budget.;    

- to approve the Regulation "on the Republican Corporation Television and Radio of Kazakhstan" within two months;    

-take measures to strengthen the material and technical base of the corporation.    

5. The State Committee of the Republic of Kazakhstan on State Property:    

- transfer as a contribution to the corporation on behalf of the state the rights of ownership, use and management of state property of creative production units, enterprises and organizations that are part of the liquidated state broadcasting company "Kazakhstan";    

- to develop and approve a package of constituent documents of the republican corporation "Television and Radio of Kazakhstan" within two months.    

6. To assist government authorities, heads of regional Almaty and Leninsk city administrations in promptly resolving issues related to the corporation's activities.    

This Decree comes into force from the date of its publication.
