About the Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan for Atomic Energy
Decree of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated May 7, 2012 No. 321
In accordance with subparagraph 3) Article 44 of the Constitution of the Republic of Kazakhstan
I DECREE:
1. Reorganize the Ministry of Industry and New Technologies of the Republic of Kazakhstan by separating the Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan for Atomic Energy (hereinafter referred to as the Agency) with the transfer to it of functions and powers in the field of atomic energy use, nuclear and radiation safety, physical protection of nuclear materials and nuclear installations, as well as compliance with the nuclear nonproliferation regime in the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
2. The Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan: 1) to abolish The Atomic Energy Committee of the Ministry of Industry and New Technologies of the Republic of Kazakhstan; 2) ensure the transfer to the Agency of the staffing of the abolished Atomic Energy Committee of the Ministry of Industry and New Technologies of the Republic of Kazakhstan; 3) take other necessary measures to implement this Decree.
3. To designate the Agency as the legal successor under the obligations of the abolished Atomic Energy Committee of the Ministry of Industry and New Technologies of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
4. Add to Decree of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated January 22, 1999 No. 6 "On the Structure of the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan" the following addition: Paragraph 1 should be supplemented with the following line: "Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan for Atomic Energy".
5. Control over the implementation of this Decree is entrusted to the Administration of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
6. This Decree shall enter into force from the date of signing.
