On measures for further improvement of the public administration system of the Republic of Kazakhstan

Decree of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated January 2, 2023 No. 80.

In accordance with subparagraph 3) of Article 44 of the Constitution of the Republic of Kazakhstan, in order to modernize and improve the effectiveness of the public administration system, I HEREBY DECREE:

1. Reorganize the Ministry of Ecology, Geology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Kazakhstan into the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Kazakhstan with the transfer of functions and powers in the field of state geological exploration of the subsoil, reproduction of the mineral resource base to the Ministry of Industry and Infrastructural Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

2. The Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan should ensure:

1) in coordination with the Administration of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the redistribution of the staffing of state bodies and their subordinate organizations;

2) taking other measures to implement this Decree.

3. To designate the Ministry of Industry and Infrastructure Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan as the legal successor to the rights and obligations of the Ministry of Ecology, Geology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Kazakhstan within the limits of the transferred functions and powers.

4. To make the following amendment to the Decree of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated January 22, 1999 No. 6 "On the Structure of the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan":

In paragraph 1, the line "Ministry of Ecology, Geology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Kazakhstan" should be worded as follows:

"Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Kazakhstan".

5. Control over the implementation of this Decree is entrusted to the Administration of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

6. This Decree shall enter into force from the date of its signing.
