       To ratify the Protocol on Amendments and Additions to the Free Trade Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Government of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated June 10, 1997, signed in Baku on May 24, 2005.

    PROTOCOL on Amendments and Additions to the Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Government of the Republic of Azerbaijan on Free Trade dated June 10, 1997

     The Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Government of the Republic of Azerbaijan, hereinafter referred to as the Parties, in accordance with article 18 of the Free Trade Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Government of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated June 10, 1997 (hereinafter referred to as the Agreement) have agreed as follows: 1. To make the following amendments and additions to the Agreement: 1) Paragraphs 2 and 3 of Article 2 shall be worded as follows: "2. The Parties agreed to cancel the exemptions from the free trade regime applied between the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Republic of Azerbaijan, according to the attached Schedule for the phased abolition of exemptions from the free trade regime between the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Republic of Azerbaijan, including the agreed nomenclature of goods for which these exemptions apply.        3. For the purposes of this Agreement and for the period of its validity, goods originating from the customs territories of the States of the Parties are goods whose origin is determined in accordance with the Rules for Determining the Country of Origin of Goods approved by the decision of the Council of Heads of Government of the Commonwealth of Independent States dated November 30, 2000."; 2) add an appendix in accordance with the annex to this Protocol.         2. This Protocol is an integral part of the Agreement and shall enter into force on the date of receipt of the last written notification that the Parties have completed the internal procedures necessary for its entry into force.         Done in Baku on May 24, 2005, in two original copies, each in the Kazakh, Azerbaijani and Russian languages, all texts being equally authentic.         In case of disagreement in the interpretation of the provisions of this Protocol, the Parties will refer to the text in Russian.
