To ratify the Protocol on Amendments to the Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Government of the Russian Federation on the Procedure for Crossing the Kazakh-Russian State Border by Residents of the Border Territories of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Russian Federation dated October 3, 2006, signed in Petropavlovsk on November 9, 2018.

protocol on amendments to the Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Government of the Russian Federation on the procedure for crossing the Kazakh-Russian State Border by residents of the Border Territories of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Russian Federation dated October 3, 2006

The Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Government of the Russian Federation, hereinafter referred to as the Parties,

guided by Article 10 of the Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Government of the Russian Federation on the Procedure for Crossing the Kazakh-Russian State Border by Residents of the Border Territories of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Russian Federation dated October 3, 2006 (hereinafter referred to as the Agreement),

have agreed on the following:

Article 1

In Annex 3 to the Agreement, in the list of documents valid for crossing the Kazakh-Russian state border by citizens of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Russian Federation residing in the border territories for citizens of the Republic of Kazakhstan, paragraphs 1 and 2 should be worded as follows:

"1. An identity card of a citizen of the Republic of Kazakhstan and a document confirming his registration at his permanent place of residence in a locality of the border territory, issued by the authorized state body of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

2. A passport of a citizen of the Republic of Kazakhstan and a document confirming his registration at his permanent place of residence in a locality of the border territory, issued by the authorized state body of the Republic of Kazakhstan."

Article 2

This Protocol shall be provisionally applied after 30 (thirty) days from the date of signature and shall enter into force on the date of receipt of the last written notification by the Parties of the completion of the internal procedures necessary for its entry into force.

Done in Petropavlovsk on November 9, 2018, in two copies, each in the Kazakh and Russian languages, both texts being equally authentic.
