 To ratify the Protocol on Amendments to the Agreement between the member States of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization on the Regional Anti-Terrorist Structure, signed on June 7, 2002 in St. Petersburg (Russian Federation), signed in Bishkek on August 16, 2007.

PROTOCOL on Amendments to the Agreement between the Member States of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization on the Regional Anti-Terrorist Structure, signed on June 7, 2002 in St. Petersburg (Russian Federation)

 The member States of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization have concluded this Protocol on the following:

Article 1

 To make the following amendments to the Agreement between the member States of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization on the Regional Anti-Terrorist Structure (hereinafter referred to as the Agreement):

 The third paragraph of article 11 of the Agreement should be worded as follows:

 "The Director is appointed by the Council of Heads of SCO member States on the recommendation of the Council. The Deputy Directors are appointed and dismissed by the Council on the proposal of the Parties to whom these positions are assigned.";

 Article 21 of the Agreement should be worded as follows:

 "The official and working languages of the RATS are Russian and Chinese.".

Article 2

 This Protocol shall enter into force in accordance with the procedure provided for in article 26 of the Agreement.

 This Protocol is temporarily applied from the date of its signing.

 Done in Bishkek on August 16, 2007, in one original copy in the Russian and Chinese languages, both texts being equally authentic.
