PROTOCOL on Amendments to the Agreement on Exemption from Customs Duties, Taxes and the Issuance of Special Permits for the Transportation of Normative Documents, Standards, Measuring Instruments and Standard Samples Transported for the Purpose of Verification and Metrological Certification dated February 10, 1995

The Governments of the States Parties to the Agreement on Exemption from Customs Duties, Taxes and the Issuance of Special Permits for the Transportation of Normative Documents, Standards, Measuring Instruments and Standard Samples Transported for the Purpose of Verification and Metrological Certification dated February 10, 1995 (hereinafter referred to as the Agreement)

have agreed on the following:

1. Make the following changes to the Agreement: 1.1. The name of the Agreement after the words "for the purpose of verification" should be supplemented with the words "calibrations, comparisons", further in the text.

1.2. Add the words "calibration, comparison" to the third paragraph of the preamble after the words "on production, verification", further in the text.

1.3. After the words "for the purposes of verification", add the words "calibrations, comparisons" to Article 2, further in the text.

1.4. Article 5 should read as follows: "This Agreement is open for accession by other States parties to the Agreement on the Implementation of a Coordinated Policy in the Field of Standardization, Metrology and Certification dated March 13, 1992 by submitting documents on such accession to the depositary - the Executive Committee of the Commonwealth of Independent States."

1.5. Add the following Article 7 to the Agreement:: "By mutual agreement of the Parties, amendments may be made to this Agreement, which are formalized by the relevant protocol, which is an integral part of this Agreement," renumbering the subsequent articles accordingly.

2. Disputes and disagreements regarding the interpretation or application of this Protocol shall be resolved through negotiations and consultations, unless otherwise agreed by the Parties.

3. This Protocol shall enter into force on the date of deposit with the depositary of the third written notification on the completion by States of the internal procedures necessary for its entry into force.

Done in Ashgabat on November 22, 2007, in one original copy in the Russian language. The original copy is kept in the Executive Committee of the Commonwealth of Independent States, which will send a certified copy to each signatory State of this Protocol.
