Officially certified text

The member States of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (hereinafter referred to as the SCO or the Organization) have concluded this Protocol on the following:

Article 1

The first paragraph of Article 11 of the SCO Charter should read as follows: "The Secretariat is the main permanent executive body of the SCO and coordinates, provides information and analytical, legal, organizational and technical support for the Organization's activities, develops proposals for the development of cooperation within the SCO and the Organization's international relations, and monitors the implementation of decisions of SCO bodies."

Article 2

In the second, third, fourth, sixth and seventh paragraphs of Article 11 of the SCO Charter, the words "Executive Secretary" should be replaced with the words "Secretary General" in the appropriate case.

Article 3

This Protocol shall enter into force in accordance with the procedure provided for in Article 21 of the SCO Charter.

Done in Shanghai on June 15, 2006, in one original copy in the Chinese and Russian languages, both texts being equally authentic.

The original copy of the above-mentioned Protocol is kept at the Secretariat of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization.
