To ratify the Protocol on Amendments to the Shanghai Convention on Combating Terrorism, Separatism and Extremism, signed on June 15, 2001 in Shanghai (People's Republic of China), signed in Tashkent on September 5, 2003.

PROTOCOL on Amendments to the Shanghai Convention on Combating Terrorism, Separatism and Extremism, signed on June 15, 2001 in Shanghai (People's Republic of China)

The member States of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, in accordance with the Decision of the Heads of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization member States of May 29, 2003 on amendments to the Shanghai Convention on Combating Terrorism, Separatism and Extremism of June 15, 2001 (hereinafter referred to as the Convention), have concluded this Protocol on the following:
Article 1
In article 10 of the Convention, the word "Bishkek" is changed to the word "Tashkent (Republic of Uzbekistan)".
Article 2
This Protocol shall enter into force on the 30th day after the depositary receives the last of the written notifications from the Republic of Kazakhstan, the People's Republic of China, the Kyrgyz Republic, the Russian Federation, the Republic of Tajikistan and the Republic of Uzbekistan on their completion of the internal procedures necessary for the entry into force of this Protocol.
Article 3
This Protocol is an integral part of the Convention. Done in Tashkent on September 5, 2003, in one original copy in the Russian and Chinese languages, both texts being equally authentic.
