PROTOCOL TO THE PARTNERSHIP AND COOPERATION AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE REPUBLIC OF KAZAKHSTAN, ON THE ONE HAND, AND THE EUROPEAN COMMUNITY AND ITS MEMBER COUNTRIES, ON THE OTHER HAND, CONCERNING THE EXTENSION OF THE PROVISIONS OF THE PARTNERSHIP AND COOPERATION AGREEMENT TO BILATERAL TRADE IN TEXTILES, TAKING INTO ACCOUNT THE EXPIRATION OF THE BILATERAL AGREEMENT ON TRADE IN TEXTILES

REPUBLIC OF KAZAKHSTAN,
on the one hand, and
THE EUROPEAN COMMUNITY,
on the other hand,
considering that:
1. The Partnership and Cooperation Agreement between the Republic of Kazakhstan, on the one hand, and the European Community and its member Countries, on the other hand (hereinafter referred to as the PCA) was signed in 1995 and entered into force on July 1, 1999. 2. Negotiations were held to ensure that the principles of the ATP, which apply to trade in other goods, were also formally extended to trade in textile products. 3. Appropriate amendments to the ATP should be adopted.,
AGREED ON THE FOLLOWING:
Article 1
The ATP is hereby amended as follows:
1) in article 11, the reference to article 16 is deleted; 2) Article 16 is deleted.
Article 2
The Protocol is an integral part of the ATP.
Article 3
This Protocol shall enter into force on the first day of the month following the date on which the Parties notify each other of the completion of the necessary domestic procedures.
Article 4
This Protocol is executed in two copies, each in Bulgarian, Czech, Danish, Dutch, English, Estonian, Finnish, French, German, Greek, Hungarian, Italian, Latvian, Lithuanian, Maltese, Polish, Portuguese, Romanian, Slovak, Slovenian, Spanish, Swedish, Kazakh and Russian, the text of each each of them has the same power.
