An investment pyramid is a type of fraud where people are attracted to investments with promises of high incomes, but in reality, in this case, we are talking about payments due to the entrance fees of new participants, and not due to the real profits from investment activities.
Such pyramids are achieved by "get-rich-quick" pyramids, because sooner or later they are doomed to collapse when the number of new participants outgrows and becomes insufficient to generate income for the older ones. As a result, most of the participants make up their investments, and only a few, often organizing schemes, receive high profits.
