INSTRUCTION No. 14 ON OCCUPATIONAL SAFETY AND HEALTH FOR THE SHIFT SUPERVISOR
1.General safety requirements
1.1. Persons at least 18 years of age who have completed: introductory instruction; fire safety instruction; primary workplace instruction; electrical safety instruction at the workplace are allowed to work independently as a shift supervisor.
1.2. The shift supervisor must undergo: repeated safety training at the workplace at least every three months;

unscheduled briefing: in case of changes in the technological process or labor protection regulations, replacement or modernization of production equipment, fixtures and tools, changes in working conditions and organization, violations of labor protection instructions, interruptions in work for more than 60 calendar days (for work subject to increased safety requirements - 30 calendar days);

The shift supervisor should know: the effect on humans of dangerous and harmful industrial factors that occur during work; rules for occupational safety in the manufacture of products; safety rules for the operation of heat-consuming installations; requirements for industrial sanitation, electrical safety and fire safety; location of first-aid kits; rules of internal labor regulations established at the enterprise; requirements these instructions, instructions on fire safety measures, instructions on electrical safety; keep workplaces clean and tidy; be able to provide first aid to victims, use fire extinguishing equipment, and call the fire department in case of a fire.;
1.4. During work, the shift supervisor may be affected by the following dangerous factors: -increased dustiness and gas contamination of the air in the work area; increased air mobility; increased noise level; absence or lack of natural light; -moving vehicles, mechanisms; -insufficient illumination at night; -increased voltage in the electrical network, which can be shorted through the human body.
1.5. In order to prevent fires, the shift supervisor must comply with the following fire safety rules: - smoke only in designated and suitable places; -know and be able to use primary fire extinguishing equipment; -before closing the premises, make sure that the conditions for catching fire in them are excluded (doors are closed, electrical appliances are turned off, lighting is turned off, fire alarms are turned on, electric cars are installed in special places for this.); -inform the electrician immediately about all malfunctions of electrical appliances; -do not clutter up the aisles and passageways; -use electric heaters that are not equipped for this purpose; -use temporary or faulty wiring.
1.6. The shift supervisor is responsible for failure to comply with the safety requirements set out in these instructions in accordance with applicable law.
2. Safety requirements before starting work
2.1. Check the serviceability of the technical condition of the equipment, their compliance with the normal position and the effect of the light alarm.
2.2. Conduct a targeted briefing for the staff.
3. Safety requirements during operation
3.1. When carrying out work, the shift supervisor must ensure that the safety requirements of employees associated with the performance of the assigned work are met.
3.2. The shift supervisor must ensure that: -the workplaces are kept clean during work.; -following the instructions when repairing the equipment; -under normal lighting conditions; -constantly monitor the serviceability of the equipment and prevent work with fences removed or defective, locking devices that ensure occupational safety, do not touch mechanisms in motion, as well as live parts of the equipment. - personally attend and direct the execution of work related to the simultaneous use of several machines or mechanisms, vehicles, and especially workers on a limited production site, in order to prevent actions that could lead to injury to workers; -periodically monitor the performance of tasks and the health status of drivers. Persons under the influence of alcohol or drugs should not be allowed to work.
3.3. Work on loading, unloading and moving heavy loads should be carried out, as a rule, in a mechanized manner using cranes and small-scale mechanization equipment. 3.4. Loading and unloading operations should be carried out under the supervision of the shift supervisor.

4. Safety requirements in emergency situations
4.1. In case of detected malfunctions of the machines (equipment) and tools used or the creation of an emergency situation during the work, the shift supervisor must; -stop work; -warn workers about the danger; -immediately notify the plant director and contribute to the elimination of the emergency situation, as well as their investigation in order to develop emergency measures.; -eliminate the most urgent malfunctions in compliance with the safety measures set out in the occupational health and safety instructions.
4.2. When extinguishing a fire, it is necessary to use primary fire extinguishing equipment and organize the evacuation of people.
4.4. When electrical equipment catches fire, use only carbon dioxide or powder fire extinguishers.
4.5. If an employee of the workshop is injured, provide medical assistance, notify the immediate supervisor and act on his instructions.
5. Safety requirements at the end of work
5.1. Put the workplace in order (clean the equipment and tools from dirt and dust, assemble and put the tools and accessories in the installed place.
5.2. Remove and put work clothes in the closet, wash hands and face with soap, take a shower.
