When carrying out any fire work on the territory of the enterprise and in operating workshops, they are allowed only after obtaining a permit (work permit) to carry out fire work in explosive and explosion-proof workshops or permission to carry out fire work in fire-hazardous and

production sites, signed by the administration of the enterprise (workshop) and after coordination with the local fire protection authorities. 1.6. Acetylene generators must be protected and placed no closer than 10 m from the welding site, from open flames and highly heated objects, from air intake points by compressors or fans. When installing an acetylene generator, posters are posted "ENTRY IS PROHIBITED TO OUTSIDERS – IT IS FLAMMABLE!", "DO NOT SMOKE, DO NOT APPROACH WITH FIRE" 1.7. The gas welder, the gas cutter is obliged to comply with the requirements for ensuring fire and explosion safety. Be instructed in a timely manner. Know the locations of fire extinguishing equipment and be able to use them. 2. Occupational safety and health requirements before starting work. 2.1. Check the preparedness of the workplace in terms of fire safety. 2.2 Make sure that the acetylene generator, gas regulator, water lock, burners, valve hoses, gas cylinders, gearboxes, pressure gauges and other parts of welding equipment are in good working order. 2.3 Performing flame–burning operations using gasoline is prohibited. 2.4 The evaporator should be cleaned and the cutter disassembled at least once a week.

If the asbestos braid is clogged with coke or burnt, it should be replaced with a new one. 3. Occupational safety and health requirements during work. 3.1 Do not allow the burner to heat up too much, for which it must first be extinguished and periodically cooled in a container with clean water. 3.2 It is allowed to have no more than 2 gas cylinders at the workplace: one working, the other spare. The cylinders should be stored in an upright position or placed on a special stretcher and secured with clamps. 3.3 When handling empty oxygen and combustible gas cylinders, fire safety measures must also be observed, as well as with filled cylinders. 3.4 The cylinders must be kept under lock and key. Joint storage of cylinders with different gases in one place is prohibited. 3.5 It is forbidden to install acetylene generators in passageways, in crowded places and in unlit places, in rooms where the release of flammable substances is possible, as well as in operating boiler rooms and near air intake points by compressors and fans. If it is necessary to install acetylene generators in the aisles, they must be fenced and under constant supervision. 3.6 Welding and cutting of metal from ladders is prohibited. 4. Safety and labor protection requirements in emergency situations 4.1 in case of fire in the clothes of a gas welder (gas cutter), use fire extinguishing equipment that is installed at the workplace of the gas welder. 4.2. If the gearbox, valve or acetylene in the cylinder catches fire, immediately close the valve on the cylinder and bring the cylinder to a safe place, taking precautions at the same time.  Do not use acetylene from the generator until the pressure drops completely and the flame of the burner (cutter) is extinguished in order to avoid air intake and the occurrence of a flame blowback.

5. Occupational safety and health requirements at the end of work. 5.1 Extinguish the burner (cutter) by stopping the supply of acetylene to it first, and then oxygen. 5.2 Release all acetylene from the generator, remove sludge, and flush the shaft and individual parts of the generator with water. 5.3 Put the tools and fixtures in order. To prevent kerosene from entering the oxygen hoses, the flame-burning tool must be stored with the burner facing down. 5.4 Notify the master about the end of the gas welding work and about any malfunctions noticed during operation.
