     Notes: 1.- This group does not include: (a) postage stamps or state duty stamps, stationery (stamped paper) or similar products of heading 49.07; (b) theatrical decorations, backdrops for art studios or similar items made of painted canvas (heading 59.07), with the exception of those, which may be included in heading 97.06; or (c) pearls, natural or cultured, or precious or semi-precious stones (headings 71.01-71.03).         2.- For the purposes of heading 97.02, the term "originals of engravings, prints and lithographs" means black-and-white or color prints made by the author from one or more boards manually, regardless of the technique or material used by the author, with the exception of mechanical or photomechanical methods.         3.- Heading 97.03 does not include reproductions of large-scale production or handicrafts of a commercial nature, even if these goods are painted or created by artists.         4.- (a) Subject to the provisions of the above-mentioned notes 1-3, the products of this group are included in this group, and not in any other group of the Nomenclature.         (b) Heading 97.06 does not include goods included in the previous headings of this group.         5.- Frames for paintings, drawings, pastels, collages or other decorative images, engravings, prints or lithographs should be assigned to the same items as the works of art themselves if the nature and value of the frames correspond to these works. Frames whose nature and value do not correspond to the works of art listed in this note should be classified separately.

       The Republic of Kazakhstan should accede to the International Convention on the Harmonized Commodity Description and Coding System, signed in Brussels on June 14, 1983, and the Protocol amending the International Convention on the Harmonized Commodity Description and Coding System, signed in Brussels on June 24, 1986.
