Article 1. Land Fund of the Republic of Kazakhstan of the Land Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan
1. The Land Fund of the Republic of Kazakhstan, in accordance with its intended purpose, is divided into the following categories::
1) agricultural lands;
2) lands of settlements (cities, towns and rural settlements);
3) lands of industry, transport, communications, for the needs of space activities, defense, national security, nuclear safety zones and other non-agricultural purposes;
4) lands of specially protected natural territories, lands of recreational, recreational, historical and cultural purposes;
5) Forest fund lands;
6) lands of the water fund;
7) Reserve lands.
2. The lands specified in paragraph 1 of this Article shall be used in accordance with the intended purpose established for them. The legal regime of lands is determined based on their belonging to a particular category and permitted use in accordance with the zoning of lands (territories).
3. The following zones are distinguished on the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan according to the natural conditions:
1) forest-steppe;
2) steppe;
3) dry steppe;
4) semi-desert;
5) desolate;
6) foothill-desert-steppe;
7) Subtropical desert;
8) Subtropical-foothill-desert;
9) Central Asian mountain;
10) South Siberian mountain.
