Article 1. The basic concepts used in this Law Chapter 1. General provisions The Law On Beekeeping
The following basic concepts are used in this Law:
1) the queen bee is a female member of the bee family with a developed reproductive system that performs a reproductive function;
1-1) instrumental insemination point – a specialized room in which artificial insemination of queen bees is carried out using special equipment;
1-2) a breeding queen bee is a purebred queen bee from a highly productive family, characterized by a breeding value that she steadily passes on to her offspring.;
2) excluded by the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated 27.11.2015 No. 424-V (effective six months after the date of its first official publication);
3) a breeding bee family is an integral highly productive biological unit consisting of a breeding queen bee, as well as bees, drones and brood during the active period, obtained from a breeding queen bee;
3-1) a drone is a male member of the bee family that performs a reproductive function;
3-2) honey is a natural product obtained as a result of the collective and physiological properties of bees, produced from plant nectar or secretions of living parts of plants, or secretions of insects parasitizing living parts of plants, which bees collect, transform, mix with special substances produced by them, put into honeycomb cells, dehydrate, accumulate and leave in honeycomb for maturation;
3-3) a honeycomb package of bees is a bee family with honeycombs and brood, assembled in a box for its transportation;
3-4) honeycombless package of bees – bees with a queen bee and food in a box without honeycombs, intended for transportation;
4) a beehive is a facility for keeping one or more bee colonies.;
5) bee protection products - immunobiological, biological, herbal, chemical, chemical-pharmaceutical and other veterinary drugs used in beekeeping;
6) a bee breed is a group of bee families of common origin, formed in certain natural and climatic conditions, possessing a complex of traits that are steadily inherited, supported by selection, selection of morphological, physiological and economically useful properties as a result of breeding and breeding work.;
7) wax – a wax sheet with embossed bottoms of bee or drone cells;";
8) pests of bee colonies - individual species of animals, birds and insects that kill bees for food purposes or harm the bee family by stealing and (or) spoiling honey;
9) transportation (nomadization) of bee colonies - the export of bee colonies for honey harvesting and pollination of entomophilic plants;
10) a bee family is a community consisting of a queen bee, bees, drones, a nest with a brood during the active period and feed;
11) beekeeping is a branch of agricultural production, the basis of which is the breeding, maintenance and use of bees for pollination of entomophilic plants and increasing their yield, and the production of bee products.;
12) bee products – products obtained due to the collective and physiological properties of bee colonies;
13) authorized state body in the field of beekeeping - the central executive body responsible for the management of beekeeping;
14) a nomadic apiary is an apiary that, by moving, is located near honey collection sources or arrays of entomophilic plants.;
14-1) isolated accidental point is a specially selected area of the area designed to preserve, improve and reproduce zoned bee breeds and local (native) bee populations.;
15) apiary – beehives with bee colonies located in a certain place;
15-1) the veterinary passport of the apiary is a document of the established form, which indicates the owner of the apiary, the number of bee colonies, the timing and nature of the veterinary treatments carried out.;
16) stationary apiary - an apiary located in a permanent place throughout the year;
17) entomophilic plants are plants pollinated by insects.
The Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated March 12, 2002 No. 303.
This Law regulates relations in the field of beekeeping products production, protection, use and reproduction of bees, their effective use for pollination of crops and all pollinated flora, creation of conditions for increasing productivity of beekeeping, as well as crop production, ensuring guarantees of observance of the rights and interests of individuals and legal entities engaged in beekeeping.
