Article 100. Freight for cargo lost during transportation of the Merchant Shipping Act
1. Freight is not charged or refunded for the cargo lost during its transportation. In the event that the lost cargo is salvaged, the carrier is entitled to freight in an amount proportional to the distance traveled by the vessel.
When calculating the freight for the distance actually traveled by the vessel, the ratio of the part of the journey traveled by the vessel with the cargo to the length of the entire journey caused by the voyage of the vessel is taken into account.
2. For the cargo, the loss, shortage or damage (spoilage) of which occurred due to its natural properties or circumstances depending on the sender, the freight is paid in full.
