1. The authorized body within its competence:

1) performs strategic, regulatory, implementation, and supervisory functions;

2) on the basis of and in pursuance of the main directions of the internal and foreign policy of the state, defined by the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, and the main directions of the socio-economic policy of the state, its defense capability, security, and public order, developed by the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan, forms a state policy in the field of artificial intelligence in accordance with the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan;

3) develops and approves regulatory legal acts in the field of artificial intelligence;

4) develops proposals for improving the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the field of artificial intelligence;

5) approves the list of documentation for artificial intelligence systems;

6) approves criteria for classifying informatization objects as artificial intelligence systems;

7) develops a list of priority sectors of the economy for the introduction of artificial intelligence in cooperation with central government agencies;

8) exercise other powers provided for by this Law, other laws of the Republic of Kazakhstan, acts of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

2. State bodies within their competence:

1) participate in the implementation of state policy in the field of artificial intelligence;

2) provide access to the data to the operator of the national artificial intelligence platform in accordance with the data management requirements approved by the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan;

3) create data libraries in accordance with data management requirements;

4) develop and/or host an artificial intelligence model, a platform software product;

5) exercise other powers provided for by the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The provisions of subitems 2) and 3) of the first part of this paragraph do not apply to special state bodies of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
