1. Land management is a system of measures to ensure compliance with the land legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan aimed at regulating land relations, organizing the rational use and protection of land.

2. Land management is carried out on lands of all categories, regardless of ownership and forms of management on them.

The intended purpose, the mode of land use and protection, restrictions and encumbrances, boundaries of land plots, data on the quality and quantity of land and other data established as a result of land management work, reviewed and approved in accordance with the procedure provided for by the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan, are mandatory for subjects of land relations.

3. Land management includes and provides:

1) development of republican, regional and regional schemes (projects) of land management, land zoning, use, improvement and protection of land resources based on a landscape-ecological approach;

2) drafting inter-farm and intra-farm land management projects for the formation and regularization of existing land use, allotment and establishment of land boundaries in the area;

3) defining and establishing the boundaries (lines) of settlements on the ground, drawing up projects for their land management;

4) establishment of the boundaries of administrative-territorial formations, specially protected natural territories and other land plots with special conditions for the use and protection of land;

5) development, coordination, approval and issuance of projects for the land management of the territory, reclamation of disturbed and development of new lands, as well as other projects related to the use and protection of land;

6) conducting an inventory of lands, identifying unused, irrationally used or misused lands;

7) carrying out topographic and geodetic, cartographic, soil, geobotanical and other survey and survey work;

8) compilation of thematic maps and atlases of the state and use of land resources.
