Article 196. Acquisition or sale of property knowingly obtained by criminal means of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Criminal Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan

1 The previously unannounced acquisition or sale of property knowingly obtained by criminal means, –

     are punishable by a fine in the amount of up to one hundred and sixty monthly calculation indices, or correctional labor in the same amount, or community service for up to one hundred and sixty hours, or arrest for up to forty days, with or without confiscation of property, with or without confiscation of property.

2 The same acts committed repeatedly, –

     are punishable by a fine in the amount of up to two hundred monthly calculation indices, or correctional labor in the same amount, or community service for up to two hundred hours, or arrest for up to fifty days, with or without confiscation of property.

3 The acts provided for in the first or second parts of this Article, committed:

     1) in relation to a car, oil and petroleum products, or other large-scale property;

     2) by a group of persons by prior agreement;

     3) in relation to historical and cultural monuments, as well as objects and documents of special historical, scientific, artistic or cultural value, –

     are punishable by a fine in the amount of up to four thousand monthly calculation indices, or correctional labor in the same amount, or community service for up to one thousand hours, or restriction of liberty for up to four years, or imprisonment for the same term, with or without confiscation of property.

4 The acts provided for in the first, second or third parts of this Article, committed by a criminal group or a person using his official position, –

     are punishable by restriction of liberty for a term of up to five years or imprisonment for the same term, with or without confiscation of property, with or without deprivation of the right to hold certain positions or engage in certain activities for a term of up to three years.
