Article 290. Improper performance of duties related to the protection of weapons, ammunition, explosives or explosive devices of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Criminal Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan
1 Improper performance of their duties by a person who has been entrusted with the protection of firearms, ammunition, explosives or explosive devices, if this has led to their theft or destruction or the occurrence of other grave consequences, –
is punishable by a fine in the amount of up to five thousand monthly calculation indices, or correctional labor in the same amount, or community service for up to one thousand two hundred hours, or restriction of liberty for up to five years, or imprisonment for the same term, with deprivation of the right to hold certain positions or engage in certain activities for a period of up to three years or without it.
2 Improper performance of duties for the protection of weapons of mass destruction or materials or equipment that can be used in the creation of weapons of mass destruction, if this has entailed grave consequences or created a threat of their occurrence, –
is punishable by imprisonment for a term of two to seven years with deprivation of the right to hold certain positions or engage in certain activities for a term of up to three years.
